Dyana's Bio
Dyana is a professional gardener who learned about growing
herbs and perennials from her grandmother starting at age 12 so it is
no surprise that her garden skills are “unconscious-conscious” after
40 years of digging in the soil.
After college, Dyana taught elementary physical education in
Whitefish, MT and then taught in Los Angeles and Santa Fe. She
developed award winning children’s self-esteem and fitness programs
and was awarded “Outstanding Teacher” by the Governor of NM in 1991.
She presented seminars for the National Association for the Education
of Young Children (NAEYC) and taught parents about the importance of
having their kids play outside.
After witnessing 911, Dyana left a lucrative sales career
with UPS in Manhattan to develop a career in horticulture. Gardening
then became a spiritual and therapeutic outlet for healing. She is
currently an intern in the Rutgers Master Gardener program and a
member of the Ecological Landscaping Association, Milford Garden Club
and National Wildlife Federation. She also leads dynamic and
entertaining presentations for garden clubs, schools and garden shows.
Several of her client’s homes have been showcased on home and garden
tours. Her number one passion is helping people, especially children
learn about green gardening.
